Kanapaha Botanical Gardens (Gainesville, Florida) is a 68 acre non profit facility comprised of 24 major collections visually accessible from a 1 ½ mile paved walkway. These include the state's largest public display of bamboos and the largest herb garden in the Southeast.&nbsp; Some of Kanapaha's gardens are organized taxonomically; others demonstrate principles of ecology or natural selection. Kanapaha's signature plants include a premier stand of Chinese royal bamboo (Wong Chuk), and--during the warm months--giant Victoria water lilies and Asian snake arums.&nbsp;Giant Victoria water lilies can only be seen in late summer&nbsp;as they are a tropical species and usually disappear in October when the cooler weather sets in.&nbsp; All restrictions that apply to garden visitors also apply to individuals utilizing rental space, however, all guests are invited and welcome to explore the entirety of the grounds if they so choose. Kanapaha's walkways are largely wheelchair accessible and benches, gazebos and other rest stations are liberally spaced throughout the facility.

&gt; Do not enter flowerbeds, plant displays, waterfalls, water or mulched areas; Remain on the pathways and grassy turf at all times.&gt; Dogs are permitted but must be on a non-retractable leash at all times.&gt; Proper family attire worn at all times: Tops, bottoms and shoes must be worn at all times.&gt; Children under 13 must be supervised by an adult at all times.&gt; Radios and musical instruments are prohibited unless special authorization&nbsp;has been granted.&gt; The following are prohibited:&gt; Weapons&gt; Bicycles, skateboards, scooters , in-line skates&gt; Picking any plants, seeds, fruit or vegetables&gt; Catching any animals including insects&gt; Feeding, harassing or harming any animals or destroying their nests or shelters&gt; Climbing on or damaging any of the trees, rocks, works of art or buildings&gt; Barbecues or other cooking devices&gt; Jogging on sidewalk&gt; Swimming, wading and fishing in the fountains, ponds and lakes&gt; Littering. All garbage, including bagged dog waste, must be disposed of in the designated containers&gt; Begging and solicitation&gt; Smoking in children’s area&gt; Aggressive behavior&gt; Moving around labeled plant signs or other items If&nbsp;these rules are not adhered to, the gardens reserves the right to escort you off&nbsp;the property and prevent admittance into the Gardens in the future.&nbsp;

In 2011, amidst another brutally hot Tallahassee summer, we were introduced as co-workers at the Moe's Southwest Grill on Thomasville Road and seemed to hit it off immediately. Our shifts were filled with shared laughter over spilled beans and ridiculous customers and after years of friendship we began dating in 2015. We made the decision to move together to Colorado to pursue better opportunities in work and school and were able to make it happen the very next year. Life in Colorado was a blend of hard work and exploration.&nbsp; In 2021, I walked across the graduation stage with Andrew waiting for me at the end. That same year, we got engaged in Laguna Beach - the salty air and the rhythmic crash of waves setting a romantic scene that will last a lifetime in our memories. After years of shared adventures, growth, and love, we find ourselves back in Florida, building our future together in Gainesville. In April of 2026, we wish to celebrate with all the friends and family we have had the pleasure of meeting along the way.
